1. Agreement and who can use SnapPDF
These terms are a legal agreement between you and EazyLife Tech Solutions (“we”, “us”) for the SnapPDF app and this website (together, “SnapPDF”). By installing, opening or using SnapPDF you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you don’t accept them, don’t use SnapPDF.
You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding contract under the law that applies to you. If you use SnapPDF for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.
2. What SnapPDF is for
SnapPDF is built for legitimate personal and work productivity: turning your own papers and photos into PDFs, and organising, compressing, protecting and signing your own documents. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for that purpose on Android devices you own or control.
You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, sublicense or reverse-engineer the app, or remove our notices, except where the law expressly allows it. If you use SnapPDF to handle documents for customers, these terms, including section 5, apply to every document you handle, and you are responsible for having each customer’s authorisation.
3. Your documents, checking them, and your responsibility
- You keep ownership of everything you scan or create. We don’t receive it and claim no rights over it.
- You must have the right to every document you use with SnapPDF: you own it, or its owner or the law allows you to copy, change, unlock, sign or share it.
- Other people’s information: if a document contains someone else’s personal data (for example an ID card, a certificate or a bill), you are responsible for having a lawful reason and, where needed, their consent to scan, keep and share it.
- You are solely responsible for the documents you create, their accuracy, how you use them and who you share them with, and for following every law that applies to them.
Check every PDF before you rely on it
SnapPDF is software. Like any software it can have bugs, and its results can differ across devices, operating systems and PDF readers. A PDF may, for example, fail to open or display differently in some apps or systems, miss or misplace a page, look different after compression, or be rejected by a website or office.
- Before you share, submit, print, sign or delete the originals, open the PDF and check that it is complete, correct, readable and accepted where you need it, preferably in the app or system the recipient will use.
- Keep your original papers and photos until you have checked the PDF.
- You are responsible for checking every PDF you create. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that checking the PDF as described above would have avoided, such as a missed deadline, a rejected application or a fee.
- If you find a problem, please tell us at support.eazylife@gmail.com so we can fix it.
4. Rules for specific features
Scan and photos to PDF
Scan only documents you are entitled to copy. Some items must not be reproduced at all, such as currency notes, stamp papers, and documents whose copying is restricted by law or by their issuer. Do not photograph confidential documents of others without permission.
Edit pages: crop, rotate, filters, reorder and merge
These tools are for tidying your own documents. Never use them to change the content or meaning of a document, combine pages from different documents to mislead anyone, or create a document that looks like an original issued by someone else.
Password: add or remove
- SnapPDF adds a password to a PDF, or removes one only when you enter the correct password. It is not a password-recovery or password-cracking tool, and it does not bypass any protection.
- Remove a password only from PDFs you own, or that you are authorised to open and keep unprotected. Removing protection from a document you are not entitled to, or in breach of copyright, digital rights management (DRM), a confidentiality duty or your employer’s rules, is prohibited.
- Keep your passwords safe. We never see or store them, so we cannot recover a forgotten password or a PDF locked with one.
- PDF password protection uses standard PDF encryption. It deters casual access but is not a guarantee against a determined attacker; don’t rely on it as your only safeguard for highly sensitive material.
Sign
- Sign places an image of a signature that you draw or import onto a PDF. It is not a digital signature certificate or Aadhaar eSign under the Information Technology Act, 2000. It does not verify anyone’s identity and does not by itself make a document legally valid.
- Use only your own signature. Never draw, import or place anyone else’s signature, even with their verbal permission, unless the law and the document allow you to sign on their behalf in writing.
- Whether a signed PDF is accepted is decided by its recipient and the law that applies. You are responsible for checking that before relying on it.
Extract text
Text recognition is automatic and can make mistakes, especially with numbers, names, handwriting and poor photos. Always check extracted text against the original before relying on it, particularly for legal, financial, medical or official use. Don’t use it to copy copyrighted material beyond what the law allows.
Compress and quality settings
Smaller files have lower image quality. Keep your original if you need it. We don’t guarantee that a PDF will meet a particular website’s, office’s or institution’s size, format or quality requirements.
5. Prohibited uses
You must not use SnapPDF, or any document made with it, to:
- forge, falsify, tamper with or alter any document, including identity documents, certificates, mark sheets, degrees, bank statements, salary slips, invoices, bills, receipts, tickets, agreements, stamp papers, court or government records;
- commit or help commit fraud, cheating, impersonation, identity theft, money laundering, tax evasion, or any false claim to a bank, employer, insurer, school, government body or anyone else;
- use another person’s signature, seal, identity or document without their lawful authorisation;
- remove or get around protection, passwords, DRM or access controls you are not entitled to remove;
- copy, share or distribute material in breach of copyright, trademarks, confidentiality or anyone’s privacy;
- counterfeit currency, stamps or any other instrument;
- create, keep or share unlawful, obscene, defamatory or harassing content, or content that exploits children;
- break any law, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023;
- interfere with, probe, overload or reverse-engineer the app or our services, or use them with bots or automated tools.
Any such use is entirely at your own risk and responsibility, and breaches these terms.
6. We don’t see or verify your documents
Documents are made on your phone and never sent to us, so we do not see, monitor, review or verify them. A document made with SnapPDF carries no approval, certification or endorsement from us, and we are not a party to any transaction or submission you use it for. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, authenticity or legality of any document you create, or for any decision anyone makes based on it.
7. SnapPDF Pro
- SnapPDF’s core features are free. From version 2.1 we may offer optional paid features (“SnapPDF Pro”). Before you buy, the app shows what Pro includes, the price including applicable taxes, and whether it is a subscription (with its billing period) or a one-time purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel any time in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before renewal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trials and introductory prices, if offered: the app shows the trial length and the price that applies after it. You are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Refunds: Google Play processes all payments. You can ask Google for a refund under Google Play’s refund policy, or contact us and we will consider a refund through Google Play where the law requires it or Pro did not work as described. Nothing here limits your rights under consumer law.
- Price changes: we will tell you in advance, and Google Play will ask for your agreement where required. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for, and we will not materially reduce Pro during a period you have paid for.
- One-time (“lifetime”) Pro, if offered, lasts for as long as we offer SnapPDF on Google Play for your Google account. It is not tied to your lifetime or your device’s.
- Pro is linked to the Google account used to buy it. Use Restore purchases in the app on a new phone.
- If we end your Pro for a reason other than your breach of these terms, we will refund the unused part.
8. Your files and backups
Your documents live only on your phone. If you delete them, reset or lose your phone, or uninstall the app, we cannot recover them. Keep your own backups of anything important. Android’s backup to your Google account (from version 2.1) includes your settings and saved signature, but never your PDFs or photos.
9. No warranty
SnapPDF is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We work hard to make SnapPDF reliable, but we don’t promise that it will be free of bugs or errors, uninterrupted, compatible with every device, operating system or PDF reader, or that any PDF it creates will open, display correctly or be accepted for any purpose. Checking each PDF is your responsibility (section 3).
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of data, documents, profits, opportunities or reputation, arising from SnapPDF or any document made with it;
- we are not liable for any loss or claim arising from your documents, your breach of these terms, your misuse of SnapPDF, or any third party’s use of a document you created or shared;
- our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for SnapPDF Pro in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) ₹1,000.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, or your rights as a consumer that the law does not allow to be waived.
11. Your responsibility to us
If anyone, including an authority, makes a claim against EazyLife Tech Solutions or its owners because of a document you scanned, created, unlocked, signed or shared in breach of these terms or the law, or because you infringed someone’s rights, you will compensate us for the resulting reasonable losses, penalties and legal costs. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own fault.
12. Third-party services
SnapPDF relies on Google Play, Firebase, Sentry, Stallion and, from version 2.1, RevenueCat. Their own terms apply to their services. When you share a PDF to another app, that app’s terms and privacy policy apply, and we are not responsible for it.
13. Misuse and legal requests
We may comply with valid requests from courts, law enforcement and government authorities as the law requires. Because your documents never reach us, we can only provide the limited technical data described in our privacy policy. We may report suspected illegal use to the authorities where the law allows or requires it.
14. Updates and changes
We may update SnapPDF, including through over-the-air fixes, and add, change or remove features. We may change these terms; we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply. Continuing to use SnapPDF after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. Ending use
You can stop using SnapPDF at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access to SnapPDF or Pro if you breach these terms or the law. Sections 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17 continue to apply after your use ends.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, please write to us first; most issues can be solved that way. We acknowledge every grievance within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days. Requests about your personal data are answered within 30 days at most. Any dispute not resolved informally is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in India, without affecting any right you have to bring a consumer claim where you live.
17. General
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about SnapPDF.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part applies to the fullest extent the law allows.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we have not waived it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor business, which will be bound by them.
